Are you constantly looking for ways to keep your system's performance
optimal?
What is a BIOS? The BIOS starts when the computer starts. It searches
for and perform tests of the hardware it operates. If the BIOS detects
the hardware and finds everything working properly, it loads your setup
options and then allows the Windows to load into memory. Once the Windows
loads, it operates the computer. But the Windows must work together with
the BIOS and within your settings. You can change those settings in the
BIOS Setup program, a small, battery-retained chunk of memory that resides
on the chip holding the BIOS. Technically the name of that Setup program
is the C-MOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor). The acronym derives
its name from the way manufacturers create the chip, using layers of metal-oxide-semiconductors.
Have your swap file on a separate partition as recommended in my setup
guidelines. Caution!!! Add a line to your autoexec.bat formatting the swap
partition. An unfragmented swap file can speed up your system tremendously.
You can even double the speed! Simply deleting the file (without formatting)
can make things (fragmenting) worse! Over time a PC's hard drive
become jammed with unnecessary programs and files which get scattered
and hidden all over your pc, using up valuable hard disk space and memory.
There are a number things that must be done on a regular basis to keep
your hard drive healthy. This software helps you to increase computer performance.
